Woodland Points

Woodland Indian (2,500 - 1,250 yrs) projectile points, arrowheads sale. We go to auctions and purchase estate collections. Free shipping offer.

Projectile point styles of the Woodland Period in general were less varied than in the previous Archaic period. Now, the artistic expression turns more toward pottery in the Early Woodland and personal adornments such as masks and small carved figurines in the Middle Woodland. Long-distance trade also distinguishes the Middle Woodland. The bow and arrow and the cultivation of corn highlight the Late Woodland. (For Woodland Period arrow points click Arrowheads)

We don’t sell freshly chipped-out, perfectly-shaped agate arrowheads. We sell REAL authentic Indian artifacts guaranteed thousands of years old. I go to auctions across Illinois and purchase estate collections. Many of these Indian artifacts were originally collected in the 1920s – 1970s.

Woodland Turkey Tail projectile point 166bWoodland Turkey Tail projectile point 166cWoodland Turkey Tail projectile point 166a

Item #: P166
Type: Turkey Tail Gem Point
Length: 1 7/8”
Material: Quartz Crystal
Age: Early Woodland (2,500 to 2,200 BP)
Comments: The pictures speak for the artifact. Mr. Westlake must have bought this one from another auction. This one could be mounted into a necklace with gold or platinum wire. The artifact was covered in collector markings. In order to bring out the full beauty of this artifact, I had to remove the original collector markings from the piece, which gave its length, two personal museum numbers and the town it was found near. A skilled jeweler can mount this in gold wire to make a beautiful necklace piece.
Provenance: The Glenn Westlake Collection* this one from Morristown PA
Acquisition: Genevie Westlake auction in Astoria, IL on July 23, 2011
