authentic big blade like this anywhere else on the internet. |
A much smaller
blade near identical in appearance can be found in Indian Artifacts:
the Best of the Midwest © 2005 on pg 424 from Marshall CO, KT. This
one was well-preserved with original pine pitch tar imbedded into
the base.
Probable Usage: Spear point / Knife / Spade
Provenance: White CO, IL near the Wabash River bordering Kentucky.
Date found: Purchased from an antique dealer in Galesburg IL, Mar.

Age: Late Paleo-Indian - Plano Culture 13,200 - 12,900
Probable Usage: Knife blade / lance tip form. May have been used to
harvest grass for bedding and other plants for food. It is also
sharp enough to be used to process game for its meat and hide.
Excellent price for such a rare Indian artifact.
