Arrowheads Collections - 112 arrowheads

Archaic Indian Arrowhead Collection - 112 points

Item: F15
Frame Size: 32.0" x 26.0" x 2.0" deep                Point size range from: 3/4" to 2 3/4"
Elmer's water-based glue was used.
Average Age: Middle Archaic (8,000 5,500 BP)
Provenance: Texas Panhandle in Moore County

"All of these were found at a permanent campground called Chimney Rock (A large sandstone formation in the middle of the sight resembling a chimney. It stood approx. 15 ft high and 20 ft. around). This sight is about three quarters of a mile north of the Canadian River. All the pieces were found in the late 1960's and the early 1970's. They were found by my family (my mom, dad and myself). My parents excavated using a homemade screen on portable legs. As a young boy, I had my own screen made out of a coke box and I used a child's shovel to try to be like my parents. I found several of these points in my little screen. It is believed that the Hi-Plains Indians that lived here were farmers and followed the buffalo to help the tribe survive."  Paul P.
